THE ACS MAY 4TH EVENT

With the ongoing success of getting shots in the arms in the Augusta area we now feel confident that we can announce some plans to get ALL ACS Members along with some others interested in joining us together to SING!

Our plan is to gather at Sacred Heart Cultural Center on Tuesday, May 4th for an evening of getting back together again, singing some great selections of music, and just connecting with each other after being unable to sing together for a full year. I will have chairs set up in the great hall of Sacred Heart (1301 Greene Street), spaced 1-2 feet apart and staggered. Anyone who wishes to move their chair further away from everyone is certainly encouraged to do so.
Roz will be there to accompany us and Porter will be there to lead us.

Many of us have been fully vaccinated and others are getting their vaccinations in the coming weeks. A few people will not be able to be vaccinated for valid reasons and some of our members are too young at this point. Don’t feel pressured to come as this is totally voluntary but all are invited.

I will have the front left door of Sacred Heart open beginning at 7:00. We will start singing at 7:30. Those who need enter from the rear for handicapped accessibility will need to call me at 706-294-8849 so that I can send someone down to let you in.

If you know others who might be interested in joining us, please invite them to come as well.

Please continue to do what you can to stay safe and protected so that our area doesn’t have a new surge of the virus and we will have to cancel these May 4th plan. Our sincere hope is to begin regular rehearsals in the late summer and have a full concert season in 2021-2022. I think we will also be able to sing The National Anthem at the Augusta GreenJackets game over the summer but we don’t have a confirmed date about that yet.

I do ask you to respond back and let me know if you plan to attend (and what your voice part is) so that we can be properly prepared that evening.
Some of you receiving this email have indicated over the past year that you are interested in joining us and please let me know if you can come that evening. You can meet us and sing with us and we can plan a voice placement when we start back for good.

Porter, Roz Bill and I really do look forward to seeing everyone again!
